It was around 1989. A nun named Kathy came. When she arrived some people got together with her. She saw the people’s need, and the people saw the need to work together as a group to survive, because we didn’t even have money to buy sugar or some medicine, if we ever needed it. That’s how I got into the embroidering group, and how some of us started coming out of that state a little, and were able to cover our most basic needs.
