Yes, Jesús Rojas was a very well-rounded person. He was a Nicaraguan Jesuit student who studied with Rutilio Grande. He was a prominent person but he decided to come here to fight with the people. He said it felt better to him to be with the people than to be a priest. He thought he would be able to help out more that way. People loved him very much because he was very sociable. During the time when people resettled in Nueva Trinidad, he supported them as much as he could, even in building new homes. Everyone in these communities that belong to the parish remember him because he was very loved. He was a commander and he participated in the Peace Accords negotiations. He was very involved. Just like Leonel González, who was there until the end. But since Jesús Rojas died, he couldn’t be a signatory. He was part of the Political Negotiation Commission.
