I was born here in Arcatao. I come from a family that had resources to get by. In my family, my mom did house work, and at night she sewed. She made pants. My dad would work on the farm, he was something of a rancher. Those are the resources we lived off of. When I was little, I lived with my grandfather, who had a hat store. He sold saddles too… well, everything you need for horses. That was his business. My dad would go to the field and as a young girl, my mom and I would bring him food there. When we grew up, they put us in school, which is actually the same school that I’m currently working at.
