Look, during that operation… there were troops all around, stationed at all the high places. The high ground around El Portillo, La Cañada, and El Pepeto were all occupied. The high areas around El Portillo, La Cañada, and El Pepeto were all occupied. So… that’s how we spent twenty-four days! They cleared out the whole area during that operation. Eight days after they cleared out this area during that operation, the invasion happened. So here I was in the midst of the invasion. I had no idea what to do, because the invasion started at 5 in the morning. I was in a house near here. When I heard the sound of the planes I came out… I left without remembering to bring anything with me. I had hidden my backpack under the oven; I put a rock over it and left it there. I fled with nothing. They killed four people during that invasion: Osmin and Guillermo, Ceferino and Mingo. Four.
